Rita, of course, knew different. The unmistakable stench of living death was everywhere. Not detectable to the human sense, it would draw the creatures of the night—like her—like the rogue responsible for this.
The man on the bed stirred. The tiniest twitch of one toe, the stretch of his calf muscle, the clench of that delectable ass… With a deep sigh of regret, Rita allowed her true self to emerge, and stopped him from turning into one like her.
