Thanks for agreeing to be my victim, Elle Boon :-)
Thank you sooo much for having me :-)
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hiya. Well, as y’all know I’m a sweet-ish southern girl *weg*. I love reading, writing, and… Okay, enough of that hehehe. Y’all know I am a dirty talking, and dirty writing gal, but I am also as honest as they come “snort, pun intended”. When people ask me what I write, I don’t blush and prevaricate. I boldly tell them “I write paranormal romance with lots of open door sex. Menage, erotic, you get the picture.” I figure if I’m not proud enough to tell the world, then I’m not in the right business. Of course, I understand those who can’t due to their day jobs, I’m just fortunate enough I don’t have that issue, and my family support me full stop <3 I say Bless your heart so much I think I am close to being a saint lmao. I also say the F**k word along with a lot of other really bad words, all the time. Imagine if a trucker was to procreate with a sailor and have a child. I would be THAT child :-)
What made you want to become involved in this event?
Well, the “Sin” part was awesome, but also just seeing all the other amazing Siren authors and being a part of something to promote our wonderful books. I love all things dirty, and let’s be honest, we bring it with Siren <3
Describe a typical day’s writing for us.
Hmm, it’s really boring lol. I get up, get my coffee…Must have coffee before I do ANYTHING. Then I hop on the Facebook to catch up on everything. I read through my emails, and the news. Then I promo. Then, I write…Hopefully J See totally boring J Twice a month my BFF Caitlyn O’leary and I have a VLOG called “Blunt Talk With Elle and Caitlyn” so on the 1st and 15th we video chat about everything :-)
What inspires you?
I can honestly say everything inspires me, but music gets me into my stories. I’ll get storylines mostly while showering though. Soo strange, but true.
If you weren’t a writer what would you be?
I actually have a degree in accounting. However, I was a stay at home and beta/crit partner before I decided to pursue writing <3 I had never really thought about writing until after I had a stroke at the age of 32, then I re-thought a lot. Books saved my sanity when everything seemed to be out of my control. While reading, I found a great group of gals, and then became a beta reader, then crit partner for several authors. They encouraged me to pursue writing, and I will always be grateful.
Do your characters ever surprise you?
ALL THE TIME. I had no clue the book I’m writing right now, which is Akra’s story, book 5 in the Ravens of War would get her own story. She just sort of popped in and said “I am your next heroine beotch so write me”. I of course said “Well alrighty then.” She’s the leader of the demon women in the series, and is one of my favorite characters <3
What could you not do without when you’re writing?
Music. I need it and coffee. MUST HAVES!!
What words of wisdom do you have for the aspiring authors out there?
Just write. Don’t give up. Listen to people you trust, but also learn from mistakes. Even if you “think” you are right, sometimes the hardest thing is accepting you’re not. Rejections suck, but we all get them. So instead of thinking you suck, and giving up, pick yourself up, dust off your ass from where you skidded, and learn from your mistakes. The reality is that we all have been rejected. We all have had to deal with criticism, whether it was constructive, or downright awful. A writer will take it and weed out the good, the bad, and the ugly. Remember, every published author started as an unpublished author <3
Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
Hopefully a NYT Best Selling Author and USA Best Selling Author. Do you see the huge stars in my eyes? LOL
Do you have a favourite quote?
BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL BECAUSE THOSE WHO MIND DON’T MATTER AND THOSE WHO MATTER DON’T MIND.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?
Not yet <3
If you had to pick just one of your heroes, which one would it be and why?
Zeus. I love him. He’s not the head Hero in any of my books, but he’s my all-time favorite cause he’s all kinds of awesome. He’s been in all my Ravens of War books, and I gave him a twist when I created him. He is still the big bad king of gods, but he is loving, and has a twisted sense of humor.
Finally, where can your readers stalk you…in the nicest possible way of course? ;-)
I truly do LOVE to hear from readers, so please stalk me LOL.
Let's look at Elle's books :-)
Thanks so much for answering my nosy questions today, Elle. Don’t forget to check out the event, folks!
We’d love to see you there.
