If that wasn't enough I then came home to a blocked toilet, thanks to my almost 5 year old... So not fun. Anyhoo, that was then and this is now. Like I said, I'd like a nice quiet day, please. On with your tease, however. Enjoy, I hope.

The thud on the balcony sounded too loud and heavy for her usual feline visitor. She should have just stayed hidden under her covers. As it was her body felt like lead, the chills which had racked her frame for several days now leaving her weak, vulnerable, and afraid. That shadow looming through the shutter slats looked almost like a man. That had to be her overactive imagination, however. It could be no one else, bar the stray cat she’d been leaving food out for. No doubt the poor thing would be starving. Concern for someone other than herself brought her to her feet. The room spun and she gasped, wishing she could call for her help.
The only access to her tiny roof top flat was the steep stairs to her front door, however. Stairs she hadn’t managed. Where she’d once thought her location romantic, in her weakened state the very isolation she’d sought had become her prison.
Somehow she managed to push open the shutters, and froze. No, this made no sense.
The stranger straightened slowly from his crouch, his eyes so familiar, yet odd in his human face.
“Little one, let me take care of you now.”
As ever, let me know what you thought of my teaser today.
