Happy Tuesday, peeps and if you're celebrating it, Happy Halloween. Tantalizing Tuesdays is back and it seems a great idea to make my come back to blogging with a tease. After all, so many of my stories have started as a tease on my blog and this will have to be another one. We were given this picture a couple of years ago for a Friday Flash, and it really spoke to me then.
Well, for today's tease I had to resurrect it and add to it. I might just make this my NaNoWriMo piece. I can see all sorts of delicious conflict and it's been a while since I wrote Sci-Fi.
In any case, I'm back! Do let me know what you think of my tease. :-)
Earth’s gravity forced him to his knees, and he smirked behind his mask. How fitting to be bowing before the moon at Halloween of all days.
The puny inhabitants of the blue planet would never know what hit them. He was but the first of many, and there was no one in this sphere to stop his kind. While they celebrated and dressed up as ghouls, monsters, and witches, no one watched the sky, where the real monsters lived. Not that he thought of himself as such, but these fragile lifeforms too full of their own importance to think beyond their miserable little lives—they would name his kind thus.
Rising slowly, Lunos lifted his wings toward his ship and beat out the rapid staccato that would bring the reinforcements.
It had been fun watching the earthlings, but they should never have sent that probe to the stars. The life they sought there would end them now.
Childish laughter reached his hypersensitive ears and with it the scent of home—of his brother here on this doomed planet.
The raven-haired earthling caught up with the young one and they lifted their gazes toward the sky.
His duty to protect.
As ever, let me know what you thought of my teaser today.
Do stay naughty, folks.
