“There you are, little dove. That was beautiful.”
The deep soothing tones of Sir’s voice registered through the pleasurable fog of her mind. That happy place she didn’t want to leave, yet knew she had to. It had been so long since she’d been there, and oh, how she’d missed it. The rope on her skin restrained her, yet set her free, to soar, to fly, to simply be. Safe in the knowledge that Sir had her in that moment and always. He was her anchor, her rock, her safe place in a world far too scary most of the time.
Other things slowly registered, over the blood rushing in her ears. The soothing tone of his voice, the feel of his hands on her body, which gently grounded her in the here and now, as he continued to untie the knots. Reality set in and with it the roughness of the floorboards under her knees, and the cool air. Shivers raced down her spine, and she grasped for her lifeline.
“Sir?” Her whispered cry for help brought with it the warmth of a blanket. The sensation of being lifted and held in his arms.
“I’ve got you, my love.”
