Happy Saturday peeps. The awesome Raven McAllan is back on my blog today, and you know that means you're in for a bit of a giggle, swoon, and a great story, of course.
Take it away, Raven :)
Yes, hello, no do not adjust your computer it is me again. Just like a bad penny (what is a bad penny anyway?) grins
Anyway, today I decided to give my heroes a chance to tell you (and me I reckon) just what they think makes a good hero)
I thought I'd try and ask the questions. Try is a wee word and doesn't always work as it should, so here goes…
R… Hi guys. So will you introduce yourselves?
Gael…I'm Gael Lorenzo. I race cars for a living. My story is told in The Racing Driver's Wife which was released from Evernight Publishing on 17th
Nico… I sing
Gael…and you are?
Nico Rolls eyes Nico Hughes. Raven let the cat out of the bag with regards to me in The Rock Star's Wife. Also from Evernight. Oh, and it came out a couple of weeks ago.
R How would you describe yourselves? (I get two eyes wide open, 'you what?' looks.
Nico… As a man? Well, come on. What do you expect me to say? As a sex on legs rock star? Snigger I'm not that much up my own arse. Yeah I get women throwing their knickers at the stage, but I don't touch them—or the knickers.
Gael… laughs They'd be too small for you anyway…
Nico… Yeah, and even if I am in tune with my feminine side I don't do lacy and frills over my…
R…Okay, yes, well…. What about you Gael?"
Gael… Do I wear frilly pants? Wink Oh you mean describe myself. Well, what can I say? I'm too modest to describe my assets. Let's just say, I'm fit.
(That's for sure, they both are. But I've a feeling this conversation is getting away from me.)
R… Er right. Then tell me, why did you both let me write about you? You first, Luca. What's so special about your book 'The Racing Driver's Wife?
Luca… I think we need to say firstly, your muse insisted we help you tell our story, not the other way round. (Gael nods) I decided that as I wanted to meet my lady again, and try to see where it all went wrong, it was a perfect opportunity. So, I listened, and offered all the help I could. Luckily she agreed with me, although at times… shrug I did wonder whose side you and she were on.
(The enquiring look he fixes me with makes me want to wriggle. Let's face it I did put both of them through the wringer.)
R…yes, well, it wouldn't be fun if it was too easy now would it? And er it's my muse's fault not mine.
Gael…She did that to me as well, didn't you cara? (I smiled) But then, I thought, I'll let Raven have her bit of fun. After all, if it gets me what I want…" Raises eyebrows After all if it doesn't I'll know who to blame, won't I?
(he smiles and I'm not sure whether to run or swoon)
R…Gulp Yes well… Were you both happy?
Gael… you'll need to read your stories and then you'll know.
R…Okay then…One last question. What makes a good hero?
Luca… Us. raises eyebrows (Hell, he does that so well) After all, we are mere men with all the attendant problems, but we care for our ladies. Even if it seems we do not.
Gael… After all, it's hard for us to admit we aren't infallible, or a superman who can fix everything without any trouble. We hate not making everything perfect in our lady's world. But we are not afraid to say we're wrong.
Luca…smiles wryly Eventually.
Gael…Yeah. And hope it isn't too late.
(They're both silent for a while.)
Gael… Will that do? Are you happy?
…I'm happy. I hope if you read either of the books, you will be as well…
Rock Star Nico was in love with Kenna and wanted to do everything for her, coddle her, and keep her safe. The result? Kenna felt stifled, so it was inevitable they'd clash. That clash resulted in them splitting up—until Kenna turned up at one of his concerts and Nico had the chance to explain himself.
Would she listen? If she did, would she understand, and accept he'd changed and give them a second chance? All he could do was put his heart on his sleeve and hope...
All Kenna has to do is listen to her heart, and his, and decide...
Does she? Ah well, you'll need to read the book to find out…
… The Racing Driver's Wife
Some risks are worth taking…
Racing driver Gael Lorenzo is used to taking his life in his hands, if only he could say the same for his errant wife. He meant his wedding vows, and there will never be another woman for him, but what can he do to win her back?
Darcy thought she knew the risks of being married to a man who lives for his sport. The reality of the race track, however, proves too much for her. Nevertheless, giving Gael up entirely, is not an option either.
When circumstances force them back into each other’s company, neither one of them can let this chance go. Together they are stronger than apart, and their marriage is worth fighting for, isn’t it?
Writing these books was so much fun. I love trying to understand why some people behave as they do. Why they might seem an idiot but one who is trying so hard to redeem themselves.
These two books are the first in a series called 'Their Wives". The only connection to each book is that they're about a husband and wife. Yes, this gives me scope, (The Regency Rake's Wife anyone? What do you think?) but it also means the books are standalones, and we get a chance to see how some of these husbands and wives mess up.
And boy can they mess up. A bit like anyone of us, I guess.
Now, I'll leave you all to do whatever you were about to do wink or were in the middle of snigger, give my grandson the drum kit his mum keeps saying no to, (she's like that, I've no idea why. After all I did offer earplugs as well) and wipe the chocolaty evidence off everything it's sort of stuck to.
Love R x
